EFFECTIVE STUDY ROUTINE

It is usually assumed that good grades are achieved by spending hours and hours, but the fact is that sitting with books for hours does not always mean that you are studying. Sometimes a focused two-hour study session can be more productive than investigating an entire day surrounded by books; instead, it mentally drains you.

An effective study routine defines studying with a purpose. A well-planned routine helps students remain focused, manage their time, revise regularly and avoid the last- minute stress.

First of all, you should be clear with what you need to study, take a few minutes to decide what you have to accomplish. Instead of writing "study physics" on your to do list, set a specific topic like "to cover numerical of Chap 3", "practice past papers for year 2024" or "to deal with structures of aldehyde"

Clear goals make studying more strategic and helps your timetable to progress

Next, you have to decide a routine that fits you, there is no specific routine that would work for everyone. Some students may concentrate better in the morning while others may be productive in the evening, varying on the students' other activities. The important thing is to understand when you can focus best without distractions. Make sure to arrange the complexities of the subject accordingly. For example: you can give your focused hours first to the subjects that demand more concentration and the later hours for the lighter revisions.

Studying continuously for several hours can make you exhausted and reduce your concentration for this try diving your study hours in multiple slots. Allot 10-15 mins interval after each slot, short break between studying improves focus and refreshes mind. A popular method is the Pomodoro Technique, which includes studying for 25 minutes and taking a 5-minute break, you can also alter it according to your time, such as studying for 30 minutes and taking a 5-minute break.

Studying can sometimes drain you mentally and physically, even if you are studying your favorite subject. It is important to reward yourself after each study session, as it increases your motivation and enjoyment in a given task. According to an article by Science Daily, studies have found out that small rewards can help with motivation, rather than saving it all up until the last. So, the next time you are feeling a bit exhausted, treat yourself with a chocolate or any other sweet treat, you deserve it!.

Next, make revision a regular habit. One of the biggest mistakes students make is leaving the revision until examinations are near. Revising a topic soon after learning it helps strengthen your memory and prepares you confident upcoming exams. In the last hours learning becomes difficult, everyday try to include a little part of revision to your daily routine. At the end of the week go through the important concepts you study during the week and identify the areas that still needed attention. it may rescue you from the last moment panic.

Moreover, during studying it is essential to use effective study method that helps you learn quickly and also save your time. We often make this mistake of just reading the textbook and highlighting every page, this isn't studying it's just reading and you often tend to forget the information. In order to study effectively, you need to test yourself, take quizzes, MCQs, use flashcards, teach some you just studied, create mind maps, make questions. This method not only make studying effective but also fun

Late night studying may seem like a quick way to cover more subjects, but lack of sleep can affect concentration, memory and energy following the day. A good study routine should allow enough time for proper sleep. Remember it's not and achievement to stay up long with your books but to learn effectively and retain what you study.

However, your routine may not be perfect, which is completely fine. After a few days make an observation: What is working? What is wasting my time? which subject is still lacking?

Make small changes according to your needs. A successful routine is not which sounds perfect but the one that you can realistically follow.

In conclusion, studying effectively doesn't mean the number of hours you spend at your desk but more about what you accomplished during those hours. Set clear goals, study with concentration, revise regularly, practice what you have learned and give your mind enough time to rest.
